Sky and I have been doing a lot of traveling together this summer. Our summer travel kicked off in early June with an eight-day California excursion. We started our trip in San Francisco and ended in San Diego. Getting to and from those two amazing cities, we had the chance to visit the beautiful Santa Barbara. This was our vacation within a vacation spot. We had no agenda and no real expectations. If you’ve never been to Santa Barbara, it’s certainly one I’d highly recommend. Not only is the temperature absolutely perfect in the summer but there is no shortage of things to do during a short visit. It makes you wonder how the people who live there can carry out their day-to-day responsibilities. Luckily for us, we didn’t have to!
Sleeping Like Kings
We began our Santa Barbara adventures at the beautiful Kimpton Canary Hotel. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of local Santa Barbara wine at check as we enjoyed the Spanish style hotel decorated with a modern boho vibe. One of the more phenomenal aspects of this hotel is the unreal roof top pool where we continued our wine sipping and sun bathing in the afternoons. The entire hotel is splashed with modern bohemian decor and their rooms are tranquil and eclectically decorated. Don’t even get me started on how comfortable their beds are.

Enjoying the Sights
Other than roaming around down on State Street and shopping at some awe-worthy places like Tribal Rugs & Art, we took some time to enjoy a two hour hike up to Inspiration Point. If you are looking for a little heart pound and some breathtaking views of the city and the Pacific Ocean, this is the way to do it. Afterwards, don’t miss out on the chance to have a famous Crushcakes cupcake and enjoy a cup of coffee. In the evenings we found ourselves sipping on some local wines on the Pier at Conway Wines. You can sit and look over the bay towards the mountains and enjoy one of their pre-selected flights of Santa Barbara wines. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of their selections.
