A few months ago we took the plunge into full-blown adulthood. You know, the moment that you realize your Rubbermaid storage bin full of random papers needs a new home. The time came to purchase a big kid filing cabinet. Exciting? Yes. Easy? No. I usually get jazzed about tasks involving home decor shopping but, I’ve got to say, this one stumped me. Where are all of the trendy filing cabinets? 

A quick phone call to my best friend led me to discover that she, too, was looking for a filing cabinet that wouldn’t cramp her style and coming up empty-handed. It lead me to believe that this is a serious issue that new adults are facing every day (Too dramatic? Maybe.).

Classic Mid-Century Modern

I had to start with the filing cabinet we ended up purchasing. Of course, it’s from West Elm. I tried to break away from it but we have the matching desk and dresser in our home and it was the first filing cabinet that came along (oh, it was also on sale!). While starkly mid-century modern, this piece is fairly neutral and can really fit into a boat load of design schemes.

Pretty In Pink

While I am loving everything about this blush and gold duo, Overstock also has this cutie in a white and gold combo that is just as clever. Make it glam or take it boho, this filing cabinet is about as versatile as they come. I also love how they’ve included the slots for drawer labels. Organization to the max!
