Home Design

The decor in our home is a living, breathing and ever-changing beast that I never stop rearranging. I might be pushing some accents around, working on a new DIY project or simply snapping photos when the light is right. At the end of the day, it’s about a home design that allows us to live comfortably and one that inspires us to be creative.

  • Space and Habit Decorating With What You Have Boho Bedroom Full Room
Anyone who has moved can probably relate to this – you get into your space and crap is everywhere. Slowly that everywhere becomes one room and slowly that one room becomes one closet. Eventually, (if you’re lucky) you tackle that one closet and clear your house of the excess. But, like they say, out of......
  • Space and Habit Fall Dining Room Decor
Fall is seriously one of my favorite times of the year. I love the sweater weather, the color changing trees and, more importantly, Halloween. Throughout our home you’ll find skulls, creepy things and bugs on a year round basis and don’t even get me started on my love of horror films. I love Halloween so......
  • Space and Habit Master Bedroom Wall Stencil
As many of you already know, we love color. Almost every nook of our home has a bright color pop and the majority of it lives on our walls! Also apparent is my hoarding of patterns which, up until recently, only lived in our rugs and pillows. Well, a few weeks ago I decided to......
  • Space and Habit West Elm Home Decor Fall Finds
Have you ever had one of those moments when you walk into a store and you suddenly want to completely re-do all of the decor in your home? Well, that just happened to me. The other day I happened to pop into our local West Elm. Unplanned! I was “running errands”. Okay, you get it......
  • Space and Habit Mid Century Modern Furniture By State
Last year, we took the plunge. The plunge of buying our first authentic piece of mid century modern furniture. Forget our engagement (kidding, Sky!). Yesterday was a frenzy-filled day for home decor lovers in the Boston area. If you haven’t already heard, Homesense has opened its first store in the U.S.. It’s right in my very backyard (not actually, I wish.) and I went to their big opening day yesterday. Now, I’ll admit, I wasn’t too familiar with the brand......
  • decorating with pets
In February of last year we brought home our amazing Italian Greyhound, Warren. He’s such a ball of joy and we literally don’t remember the last time we were bored. I think it’s pretty obvious to most that getting a dog is a lot of work. AKA we are no longer bored because we are......
  • fall home decor trends velvet living room
The sun is still shining and the beaches perfect for tanning but, believe it or not, fall is quickly approaching. Though I needed to Google it, the first day of fall is September 22nd. That gives us a little less than two months to get our fall home decor in order! I’ve been keeping an......
  • Amazon Prime Day Space Habit Hero
It seems like almost every year Amazon Prime Day comes around and I somehow miss it. Well, this year I guess I am a little more on my “A” game. By that I mean it’s raining outside and I happened to be browsing on Amazon.com and discover it was Prime Day. I decided to do......

Electrical cords drive anyone else nuts? They drive me absolutely crazy! The moment I see any type of cord sticking out, it feels like absolute clutter – plain mess. In fact, I have gone to some pretty extensive lengths to hide cords in our home. From drilling holes in furniture to painting cords, it’s always......
